May 26, 2026 – Primary Runoff Election

A primary runoff election in Texas is held when no candidate in a party’s primary receives a majority of the vote. In a runoff, the top two candidates from that party’s primary compete to determine who will become the party’s nominee for the general election. Voters who participated in a party’s primary may only vote in that same party’s primary runoff for the remainder of the election cycle.
